Next month, you will be able to view Part Two of my story. This will cover the years I spent in South Africa, Czechoslovakia, and the UK, working among the so called, New Age Travellers.
When Sue and I left Evangelism Explosion, we were led by God to set up a new organisation, which we called Hope Now because, right at the same time, I was to conduct the citywide evangelistic crusades in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria. The name Hope Now, had been chosen by my South African friends to reflect their desire in midst of the worst period of violence prior to the release of Nelson Mandela from prison.
I will share how we helped to build ten churches, set up a home for refugees from Angola and Rwanda and created a sports facility and library for Kulani High School in the black township of Langa.
I will share how it came about that I conducted crusades in Czechoslovakia with my friend and moon-walking astronaut, Col James Irwin and met with President Vaclav Havel who, only a few months earlier, had led the Velvet Revolution, which led to the collapse of Communism. View album
You will also be able to see how God brought me into contact with the travellers and ministry in the early years of the now famous Glastonbury Festival. I will allow the photographs to tease you on that. View photo form festival and photos from early years
